CallFlash is a universal voice messaging application designed especially for Symbian mobile phones.

CallFlash acts as your mobile personal assistant able to deliver a spoken message, on schedule, to as many phones as you like, anywhere in the world.

You simply record your message, select a number and choose a call time (anytime from instant to 360 days +)
CF waits till the time chosen, calls the number and delivers your message.

1. TECHNOLOGY AND CONVENIENCE

CallFlash is a message system and as such can be compared to SMS and MMS –

SMS
SMS messages have a 160 character limit;
SMS sends flat text;
SMS is fiddly and frustrating;
SMS is ponderous and formal;
SMS only works with mobiles;

CallFlash v MMS

Like CallFlash, MMS allows you to send voice messages; But MMS has two serious limitations–

Mobile Ghetto
MMS is an excellent technology which no doubt will be in common use in the future. But because it only works ‘smart phone to smart phone’ it’s current value is limited. Why? Because right now relatively few people have a smart phone and analysts estimate it will be years before you can send an MMS to anyone with the confidence they have a phone which can read it. Which means that for now and the foreseeable future CF is the only way that exists to send a voice message to any mobile.

Mobiles Only
MMS is a mobile technology which means it can’t send messages to landlines; By contrast CF can send a message to landlines as well as mobiles; this fact makes CF unique and ensures it will remain valuable even when everyone has a smart phone.

2. COST AND PRICING

SMS v CallFlash

On Paper…

SMS
An average SMS costs about 10p for 160 characters of text, which read aloud as a spoken message takes about 10 seconds. Which means a 10p SMS buys you the equivalent of 10 seconds talk time @ 1p per second.

CallFlash
A CallFlash message is charged by the second as a voice call and is structured so the more you talk the cheaper it gets. But the cost for the first 10 seconds is about 10p or 1p per second.

This means that ‘on paper’ for a message lasting 10 seconds SMS and CallFlash cost about the same. In the real world, however, things are different…

In the Real World…

SMS
Because SMS costs are fixed, you pay for 160 characters no matter how few you use (messages using 160 characters are generally sent by people held hostage or trapped on a mountain in bad weather);

CallFlash
By contrast, the cost of a CallFlash depends entirely on how long you talk, so the less you say, the less you pay. Which means CallFlash is not only as cheap as you like, but gives you exactly what you pay for.
